Ludwig Vintage Black Beauty Super-Sensitive 6.5x14" Brass Snare Drum-B/O Badge.
This is the coveted Blue and Olive "Rounded Badge" era of BlackBeauties that is associated with numerous recordings from the B & O period.This is the real thing and not a reissue which is a great specimen which are getting harder and harder to find in this condition. This drum some spots where clear finish has peeled off near edgewhere heads sit which is somewhat normal for player drums of this era but not too noticeable. (see photos) This drum has original Ludwig SS wires (Not shown)and I have put on die cast hoops that can be replaced with original 2.3 mm bynew owner's preference if they prefer "all original". There are asmall scratches on the surface of clear coat consistent with a 40-year old drum.There is a small ding in the drum (please see photo). Currently equipped with Evansheads even though CS dot may be a better choice. The SS strainer is in goodshape and works well and comes with original SS wires. This is a must for all Ludwig Snare Collectors and players as these drums are getting more difficult to find, especially in this shape..This drum is in 8.5-9.0/10 condition. This is the real deal.
